As many of you from the area, once minor hockey was finished, there wasn't many other options to play hockey as an adult. Some people went to try out for junior teams, others went across the bridge for pick up or men's league and most of the people just stopped playing all together. 

Our story begins with a beer league team we put together in the summer of 2023. A bunch of guys who grew up together and at one time or another played with and against each other. That team went on to win the championship. sounds great right? The only problem is, we had to go all the way to Kanata playing at 11:15pm.  

So we thought. "Why isn't there a league closer to us? We have so many rinks in the region but not a modern, fun and organized men's league. There are so many hockey players in the region". We took that idea and saw an opportunity. And opportunity to bring the community and the love of hockey together once again. 

We here at the ORHL want to bring back the people of this town to the wonderful game of hockey. Bring back the people who forgot how amazing it is to have a team of some of your closest friends that you call family. Some people have been playing in Ottawa for so long that we are excited to bring them back to the rinks and towns they grew up in.
